Did you know that Fayette County was the only Texas county that voted against secession in 1861? On the eve of the Civil War Fayette County was among the most well-developed areas in the state with nearly 1,000 farms containing 75,463 improved acres.

Did you know in 1859 farmers produced 12,683 bales of cotton and 320,580 bushels of corn, placing Fayette County among the state's leaders in both categories.

Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum is located on the square in Fayetteville! Open from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays and Sundays. Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to noon, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
